Real Wheels: 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark IV a “must have” for Lima man

LIMA — Ronald Ellis, of Lima, brought his 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark IV to the Westgate Charity Car Show in June.

Ellis has owned this car for three years.

“I seen it on the lot and said, ‘I think I want that,’” said Ellis. “It floats down the road.”

The two-door Continental Town Coupe Mark IV was introduced in 1973, being distinguished by the padded vinyl top. The car measured 229.1 inches (19 feet) and is 79.6 inches (6.6 feet) in width. All Continental Mark IV’s include the opera window, a feature that was continued through 1983.

Ellis owns two other luxury cars, a 2010 Lincoln MKX and a Chrysler Aspen SUV. This Continental Mark IV is parked in the garage and covered up. He mostly drives it on summer days.

Ellis enjoys bringing his car to car shows.
