ST. MARYS — Members of Midwest Electric recently donated $12,300 to 13 west central Ohio charities and community projects through the cooperative’s Community Connection Fund.
The latest recipients are: Mercer County Educational Service Center, $2,000 to support the investED program; Riverside Art Center, Wapakoneta, $1,250 to buy an office computer; C.A.L.L. Ministries, Celina, $1,250 to help purchase a generator for the aquaponics system; Partnership for Violence Free Families, $1,000 to support the third annual suicide prevention and awareness walk in Wapakoneta; Lima Symphony Orchestra, $1,000 to help the Young People’s Concert and the Baroque by Candlelight program; OUR Home Family Resource Center, Celina, $1,000 to buy furniture and blinds for the lobby; Kiwanis Club of Delphos, $1,000 to purchase a bench for the new splash pad area; Agape Ministries, St. Marys, $800 toward a hand truck for moving food in the food pantry; Wright State University-Lake Campus, $750 to support the STEM club educational program for youth; Children’s Hometown Holiday, Wapakoneta, $750 to help with the skating rink for the Christmas event; Elida Middle School, $500 to buy iPads for the special-education classroom; St. Marys East Elementary School, $500 to buy Chromebooks; and Auglaize County Historical Society, $500 to help with tracking and organizing historical items in its collection.
Since the program began in 1998, the Midwest Electric Community Connection Fund has provided $971,983 to 811 area projects.
