Lima Salvation Army seeks community funding for summer programs

LIMA — A local family will donate up to $1,000 to the Salvation Army if the community is able to raise matching funds.

The donations will benefit the Lima Salvation Army’s summer programs, which include a summer day camp, a parks and recreation program, and Camp Swoneky, the Salvation Army’s regional camp in southern Ohio. The Salvation Army also provides daily meals to help subsidize household summer expenses.

Those interested in donating may fill out a check with the words “Up to the Challenge” in the memo section, or on the envelope. Checks may be mailed to the Salvation Army of Lima, which is located at 614 E. Market St., Lima, OH 45801.
