Findlay police investigating breaking and entering

FINDLAY — The Findlay Police Department was searching for information on a breaking and entering that occurred Friday morning.

Police officers were called to American Power Sports at 5:51 a.m. Friday. Employees reported that a company van and multiple ATVs and motorcycles were stolen. During the investigation, an enclosed box trailer was found to have been stolen from the nearby lot at Affordable U-Store-It, a self storage business. The trailer, along with the American Power Sports van, were used to transport the stolen ATV’s and motorcycles, as found on the surveillance camera footage.

The stolen van is a white 2011 Chevrolet Express van that had an Ohio license plate of PEG7920 at the time of the theft. The trailer is a silver CargoMate enclosed trailer, 7 feet by 16 feet, with an extra tall ceiling. The Ohio plate on the trailer at the time of the theft was SWN1793.

Nine unidentified individuals were involved in the theft, based on the surveillance footage. The theives were covered well enough to conceal description. There was also a dark colored sport utility vehicle, possibly a Cadillac Escalade, in the area at the time of the incident that appears to have been involved.

Two ATVs, two motorcycles, and three dirt-bike-style motorcycles were stolen, along with the van and trailer. The total value of the vehicles stolen exceeded $90,000.
