Cable Road sidewalk project to begin Tuesday

LIMA — The City of Lima Engineer’s Office has announced that Helms and Sons Excavating Inc. will begin the city’s Cable Road sidewalk project Tuesday, with the project expected to be completed in July.

The project consists of installing 5-foot-wide sidewalks on both sides of Cable Road from Elm Street to Spencerville Road. After putting signs in place and gathering materials over the first day or two of the project, the contractor will begin construction at Elm Street and work south in two-block increments.

Traffic will be maintained, but delays are to be expected, according to City Engineer Kirk Niemeyer.
