Lima Police Department investigating shooting of child

LIMA — A teenager was at St. Rita’s Medical Center on Saturday night recovering from a gunshot wound.

The wound was not life threatening. The boy was shot and driven to the hospital by family. Police officers were alerted at 4:30 p.m. of a gunshot victim, Lima Police Department officials reported.

Witnesses told investigators the shooting happened near Robb Park. Detectives were following leads and talking to potential witnesses, police officials reported.

The name of the shooting victim was not released.
