International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers donate food, cash to local charities

LIMA — The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 32 recently donated $2,730 in cash and approximately 700 pounds of food to the West Ohio Community Action Partnership and the Allen County Veterans Food Pantry. This was accomplished through the sale of 50/50 tickets, raffles and a food collection.

Jerry Dickrede, training director at IBEW Local 32 in Lima, said they decided to donate to these two groups because they “stood out” from the rest.

“With the programs that WOCAP has to offer in financial aid and the education aspect they also provide, and the ACVFP providing to veterans that have proudly served this great country and have paved the way for us to lead our free lives, this is our way to say thank you,” Dickrede said.
