DELPHOS — Ultimate RB, a manufacturer of recycled rubber products, announced Tuesday that it has expanded its capacity for specialty rolled rubber production by 40 percent at its Delphos facility.
This expansion will allow the company to grow, said Will Yancey, director of manufacturing for Ultimate RB’s rubber division.
“From an additional volume capacity, we are able to be more flexible to meet our customer’s needs,” Yancey said. “Some of that is around lead time and some of it is around quantity.
“In some areas we were constrained in the amount we were able to supply, so by adding capacity we can take on more business and help customers grow.”
Before the expansion, Yancey said the company would sometimes turn down a project because it did not have the capacity to handle additional business.
“It’s all about having that flexibility — being able to handle the additional volume and customer demand,” Yancey said.
To accommodate for the increase in production, the company added new equipment and expanded its building by 10,000 square feet. The equipment installed includes a larger manufacturing process and a state-of-the-art cutting machine.

In the long term, Yancey expects the expansion will create a 10 to 15 percent growth in jobs at the Delphos facility.
“This is not a one-year type of investment. This is a long-term investment for both the company and the community,” he said. “We’re hoping to operate here for a long period of time.”
