SIDNEY — A former Shelby County sheriff’s deputy and Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was arrested Tuesday on solicitation charges.
William J. Steinke, 70, was arrested on charges of soliciting a prostitute, a third-degree misdemeanor, as well as possessing criminal tools, a first-degree misdemeanor. The arrest came after a lengthy investigation, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
Steinke will appear in Sidney Municipal Court on Wednesday. Additional charges may be filed after a review from the Shelby County Prosecutor’s Office.
