SIDNEY — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle crash Wednesday that resulted in the death of a Trotwood woman.
According to the report, Katie A. McShirley, 21, of Trotwood, was driving a maroon 1994 Chevrolet S10 west on state Route 47 in Turtle Creek Township and ran off of the right side of the road. The vehicle came back onto the road and slid sideways into the eastbound lane and was struck by an orange 2008 Chevrolet Colorado being driven by John P. Goubeaux, 65, of Versailles.
McShirley was ejected from her vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Shelby County Coroner. Goubeaux was treated at the scene by Fort Loramie Rescue and later transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney by a private vehicle.
Fort Loramie Fire Department also assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
