Several injured in 3-car crash in Bath Township

BATH TOWNSHIP — The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a three-vehicle injury crash that occurred at 11:12 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of state Route 81 and Thayer Road.

Heather Rowe, 22, of Ada, was driving a 2010 Ford Edge east on state Route 81 approaching Thayer Road. Rachel Perez, 28, of Columbus, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville south on Thayer Road and stopped at a stop sign. Her three children, Janell Perez, 12, Marcelino Sanchez, 10 and Priana Sanchez, 9, were in the back seat. Perez failed to yield and was struck by Rowe’s vehicle.

Perez’ vehicle rotated and struck a 2008 Honda Accord being driven by Courtney Stites, 24, of Lima, who was stopped on the south side of the intersection. Priana Sanchez was ejected from the vehicle.

Rachel Perez, Janell Perez, Marcelino Sanchez and Priana Sanchez were all transported to Lima Memorial Health System with non-life threatening injuries. Rowe and a passenger, Tammy Rowe, 51, of Ada, were also transported to Lima Memorial Health System with non-life threatening injuries.

Stites and a passenger, Justin Paul, 21, of Bluffton, were not injured in the crash.

The Bath Fire Department, Bath EMS, Lafayette-Jackson EMS, Blake’s Towing and Minich Towing provided assistance at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
