LIMA — Allen County Commissioners approved a measure Thursday to widen a half-mile stretch of Kill Road southwest of Delphos near Landeck.
The area is between State Road and the Norfolk & Western railroad crossing at the location of D & D Ingredients.
The county engineer’s office asked to expand the 40-foot right of way to 60 feet of which will include 24 feet of roadway, or 12 feet in each lane. Commissioners approved the measure that will take an additional 10 feet on each side of the road where the ditches will be moved.
The project is due to the increased truck traffic at D & D, said David Louth, the roadway engineer at the Allen County Engineer’s Office.
There will be four businesses that will have assessments, one homeowner and three farmers affected, Louth said.
D & D Ingredients is an animal feed company.
