Lima police investigate 2 shootings overnight

LIMA — Police were investigating two overnight shootings that appear to be unrelated.

The first was a 32-year-old man treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.

Branson Tucker was shot shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West Kibby Street. Officers responding found Tucker. He was taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center to be treated, Lima Police Department officials reported.

Detectives spoke to several witnesses but do not have a suspect, officials reported.

The second shooting occurred just after midnight. David Rinaldi, 26, arrived at St. Rita’s after he was shot twice. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, officials reported.

Rinaldi was inside a vehicle when he was shot in the 1500 block of West Spring Street. He drove himself to the hospital, police officials reported.

Investigators are following several leads in hopes of finding a suspect and have interviewed multiple witnesses.

Based on information so far, officials do not believe the shootings are related.

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to contact Lima Police Department at 419-227-4444 or the local Crime Stoppers at 419-229-7867. Anyone with information that leads to the arrest of a suspect may be eligible for an award up to $1,000.
