Teen continues to recover following ATV crash

VAN WERT — A 16-year-old Delphos girl continues to recover from serious injuries Thursday after she lost control of an ATV earlier this week.

Kaitlin E. Pohlman sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries in the Monday crash. She was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her passenger, Tristine F. Lehmkuhle, 16, of Delphos, was not injured, the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened on Bockey Road just north of Carpenter Road at 9:04 p.m. Pohlman was driving a 4-wheel ATV north on Bockey Road when she lost control and drove off the left side of the road. She and Lehmkuhle, her passenger, were both ejected, the state patrol reported.

Neither person was wearing a helmet or any safety equipment. Alcohol was not a factor and the crash remains under investigation, the patrol reported.
