Police investigate shooting on Franklin Street

LIMA — Police officials were investigating the shooting of a 43-year-old man early Wednesday.

Rico Glenn, of Lima, was shot in the leg in the 700 block of Franklin Street at 2:15 a.m. Someone fired shots at him striking Glenn and a vehicle that he got in to be taken to the hospital, said Detective Todd Jennings of the Lima Police Department.

Glenn’s wound was not life threatening, Jennings said.

Police officers responded to the area after a call of shots fired and stopped the car Glenn was in. The car was impounded as evidence, Jennings said.

Police do not have a suspect to name and no one had been arrested late Wednesday. Officers did serve a search warrant connected to the incident at a house near Pine and Kibby streets but no arrests were made, Jennings said.

Shell casings at the scene indicated a handgun was fired. It appears the person firing the gun was inside a car, Jennings said.

Police do not have a motive established and the incident remained under investigation, Jennings said.
