Aug. 1

Tess Homier-Sullivan, Continental, and Chase R. Sullivan, Continental, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married April 18, 2015, in Continental, and have no children.

Aug. 2

Robert Vogt, 54, 604 E. Third St., Ottawa, pleaded guilty to domestic violence. He faces up to 36 months in prison, and $10,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 14.

Aug. 4

Michael S. Friia, Pandora, and Tonya M. Friia, Pandora, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married May 26, 2001, in Hancock County, and have one child.

Patricia M. Klenz, Ottoville, and Rodney W. Klenz, Columbus Grove, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married Oct. 3, 1987, in Cloverdale, and have one minor child.

Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions

July 28

Carl I. Swickrath, 48, 882 N. Defiance St., Apt. A, Ottawa, pleaded no contest to domestic violence and was found guilty. Sentence: 180 days jail, 175 days suspended, $250 fine, complete assessment at Pathways Counseling Center, and no contact with victim for two years.

Alex Vasquez, 26, 251 N. Concord Drive, Apt. 16, Ottawa, pleaded no contest to OVI and was found guilty. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 174 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for six days jail upon completion of DIP. Charges of hit/skip realty-property and assured clear distance ahead were dismissed.

Aug. 1

Andrew K. Stechschulte, 22, 818 Silverpines Drive, Kalida, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of reckless operation and was found guilty. Sentence: $150 fine. A charge of failure to control was dismissed.

Cole T. Osting, 19, 173 Heckman Court, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of reckless operation, second offense. Sentence: 30 days jail, 27 days suspended, $250 fine, six-month license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. A charge of failure to signal turn was dismissed.

Aug. 2

Travis Soto, 30, 226½ E. Clinton St., Napoleon, charged with murder, a felony, bound over to Common Pleas Court. Soto is being charged in relation to the death of his son, 2-year-old Julio Baldazo, who was killed after being struck by an all-terrain vehicle in 2006. Soto had been living in Continental at the time, claiming he did not see the child when he drove around the corner of a garage and struck him. Soto was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to child endangerment. Last month, Soto made a murder confession in connection to the incident to an officer at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reportedly because of his conversion to faith.

Aug. 3

Michelle M. Oler, 29, 423 E. Sycamore St., Columbus Grove, charged with receiving stolen property, a felony, bound over to Common Pleas Court.
