LIMA — A man has died as a result of an accident involving a vehicle and the scooter he was driving.
Lima resident Raymond P. Kuhn, 60, was pronounced dead at 2 p.m. Wednesday after being involved in an accident Tuesday evening. Kuhn’s body was transported to Lucas County for an autopsy.
According to a report from the Shawnee Township Police Department, the accident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. in the 3500 block of Shawnee Road. The report stated that Kuhn was driving an electric scooter when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo, driven by 28-year-old Nicole Zeigler, of Lima.
While the investigation is in its early stages, police say that the scooter was being operated on the roadway without lights. No citations have been issued at this time, and drugs and alcohol were not detected at the scene. The incident is under investigation by Shawnee Township police.
