ST. MARYS — The St. Marys school board hired Howard Overman as interim superintendent during a special meeting held Friday.
Overman formerly served as superintendent at New Bremen before retiring in 2015. Howard will take over Aug. 1 and serve until July 31, 2017. He will be paid on a per diem basis of $450.
The board also hired current assistant treasurer Robin Laman as treasurer. Current treasurer Tom Sommer will retire effective July 31.
The superintendent position came open after Shawn Brown announced he was stepping down to take the superintendent position at the Auglaize County Educational Service Center, effective Aug. 1.
