WAPAKONETA — Mercy Unlimited in Wapakoneta invites area gardeners to participate in the 11th annual Plant a Row for the Hungry this growing season.
Plant a Row is a project of the nation’s Garden Writers Association to encourage gardeners to donate fresh fruits and vegetables to food banks and other community organizations.
Local gardeners plant an extra row in their vegetable garden or designate a portion of their produce for Plant a Row.
When the vegetables and fruits are picked, bring them to the back entrance of Mercy Unlimited, 38 East Auglaize St., Wapakoneta, during regular business hours. Mercy will distribute the donated food to its clients.
In 2015, local gardeners donated more than 500 plants and 4,560.7 pounds of produce to Mercy Unlimited.
