LCC names interim principal

LIMA — Stephanie Williams has been named the interim principal at Lima Central Catholic High School for the 2016-17 school year.

The announcement was made Monday by LCC President Walt Klimaski.

Williams has been on the LCC staff for 10 years, including the past six years as the director of guidance. Before that she taught social studies for four years. She is an LCC alumni, having graduated in 1998. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and earned master’s degrees from Wright University and the University of Dayton. She recently earned a certificate from Harvard Mentorship through the Diocese of Toledo Principal Leadership Program.

“I am very excited and blessed to continue my educational career as interim principal,” Williams said. “With an excellent staff, supportive parents and well-rounded students, Lima Central Catholic continues to celebrate 60 of tradition by providing a quality, faith based education.”

Klimaski said, “Stephanie is ready to be a principal. I have seen many teachers come through the system and Stephanie has the qualities that we look for. She really stands outs as someone who is going to be a great principal.”

LCC did not elaborate on why the position was being filled on an interim basis. It said the LCC Governing Board will be conducting a search for a new principal for the 2017-18 school year.

Williams is married to Travis Williams and they have two young sons.

She replaces former principal Kathleen Herpich. Herpich’s employment ended in March. No explanation for Herpich’s departure has been provided by LCC or the Diocese of Toledo, with both calling it a personnel matter. She held the job since 2012.
