Road construction and maintenance projects

Allen County

Interstate 75 from the Auglaize County line to Fourth Street, through Lima and Allen County, will have occasional lane closures throughout the year during the final year of the reconstruction of the interstate. Current impacts to traffic are as follows:

• Traffic on I-75 north and south of the Ohio 65 interchange area continues to travel in a contraflow pattern where two southbound lanes and one northbound lane of traffic are traveling on the southbound side of the interstate, and one northbound lane is traveling on the northbound side of the interstate. Traffic will remain in this pattern until late summer.

• Demolition of the remaining pavement and bridge structures at Ohio 65 and the railroad bridge will take place overnight on Friday, May 6 into Saturday, May 7 and will require the closure of Ohio 65 at Interstate 75 and a lane restriction on Interstate 75 northbound. Impacts to traffic will be as follows:

o I-75 northbound will be reduced to one lane through the Ohio 65 area beginning at 7 p.m. and continuing through the weekend.

o The demolition of the structures will begin at 10 p.m. at which time Ohio 65 will close.

o During the demolition, all ramps at the Ohio 65 interchange will be open.

o Ohio 65 traffic will be detoured onto I-75 to Fourth Street or Breese Road back to Ohio 65.

o Ohio 65 is expected to reopen to traffic by approximately 6 a.m. Saturday, May 7.

• Occasional lane closures will continue to occur throughout the project limits for sign work, bridge painting, cable rail installation and seeding.

• Hanthorn Road over Interstate 75 remains closed until June.

Ohio 117 from Bowman Road to the Auglaize County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

Ohio 309 will be impacted by several projects throughout the construction season as follows:

• Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Robb Avenue to Cole Street, Lima, is restricted in the eastbound direction for reconstruction of the curb and gutter, upgrade of traffic signals and resurfacing of the roadway. The continuous turn from eastbound Ohio 309 to Grand Avenue was permanently closed on March 14. Three lanes of traffic will remain open at all times throughout the duration of the project. Only one lane at a time will be taken out of service. The project will be completed in the fall. Work is being performed by Smith Paving, Norwalk.

• Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Eastown Road to U.S. 30, including the village of Elida, will be restricted beginning in May for widening, curb and gutter installation, drainage improvements and resurfacing. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation LLC, Celina.

The following impacts are occurring or upcoming:

o Ohio 309 south of Ridge Road closed May 4 for 14 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic is detoured onto Lincoln Highway/Fifth Street back to Elida Road (Ohio 309).

o Work will later occur between East Road and Eastown Road on the south side of the roadway. Traffic during this phase, which will continue through June, will be maintained with one lane eastbound and two lanes westbound.

• Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road to Ohio 235, Ada, will be closed beginning in June for 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Work will initially begin within the overlap of Ohio 235/Ohio 309. Access to area residences will be maintained, through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod.

Auglaize County

I-75 between SR 274 and National Road, Daily lane closures April 25th – July 29th between the hours of 3 am and 3 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

SR 66 between South Park Drive and Quellhorst Road, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE April 18th – June 1st. The official detour is: SR 219 to SR 29 to SR 116 to SR 197 to SR 66

SR 66 between St. Marys Kossuth Road and Township Road 182, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE April 4th – May 13th. The official detour is: SR 66 to SR 219 to SR 29 to SR 116 to SR 197 to SR 66

SR 29 between Cloverleaf Road and Schultz Road, Daily shoulder closure May 9th – 23rd between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. Lanes will remain open.

Hancock County

Ohio 12 between Findlay and Arcadia, specifically between Township Road 238 and County Road 248, will be closed beginning May 16 for five days for culvert replacements at three locations. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 224 to U.S. 23 back to Ohio 12. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage.

Interstate 75 between Perrysburg and County Road 99 north of Findlay will have the following restrictions through the fall during reconstruction and widening:

• Through November, overnight lane restrictions, generally from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County. Through December, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between U.S. 20 in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County.

o A switch in traffic could potentially occur during the week on Wednesday, May 11 and Thursday May 12, weather permitting. During the switch, traffic would be restricted during overnight hours to one lane both northbound and southbound from Ohio 18 to County Road 99.

• Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between County Road 220 and Township Road 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75.

Berm work will take place at the following locations during the week with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hancock County maintenance garage:

• Ohio 103 between Arlington and the Wyandot County line

• Ohio 37 between Findlay and the Hardin County line

• U.S. 224 between Findlay and the Seneca County line

Hardin County

Drainage repair will occur on the following routes at various locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage:

• Ohio 31 from the Union County line to city of Kenton

• Ohio 292 throughout the county

• Ohio 273 throughout the county

Ohio 309 will be impacted throughout the construction season as follows:

• Ohio 309 from County Road 171 just east of Kenton to the Marion County line will be restricted through the work zone for resurfacing beginning May 16. Work to install construction signage will occur during the week. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

• Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road to Ohio 235, Ada, will be closed beginning in June for 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Logan County

SR 274 between Railroad Street and Buckeye Street in Rushsylvania, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE May 4th – 16th. The official detour is: US 68 to SR 273.

US 68 East Township Road 219 and West Township Road 219, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE May 3rd – 16th. The official detour is: US 33 to SR 117 to SR 274.

US 33 east between County Road 10 and SR 292, Daily lane closures May 4th and 5th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One eastbound lane will remain open.

District Wide Chip and Seal project on Logan SR 287, Champaign SR 29, Champaign SR 245, Champaign SR 559 and Clark SR 41. Various lane closures April 18th – September 30th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

US 33 between CR 57 and SR 540, 24 HOUR Lane closures May 9th – September 30th. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Mercer County

SR 219 between St. Perter Road and Burville Road, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE May 2nd – 6th. The official detour is: SR 118 to SR 29 to SR 49

SR 118 between Lange Road and SR 219, Daily lane closures May 2nd – June 30th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

SR 29 between Enterprise Street and US 33, Daily lane closures April 18th – July 30th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. These closures will be in Mercer and Auglaize counties. One lane will remain open at all times.

SR 119 between SR 118 and the Indiana State line, Daily lane closures April 12th – June 15th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

SR 117 between SR 118 and SR 127, DAILY BRIDGE CLOSURE March 23rd through May 7th between 7 am and 7 pm. The official detour is: SR 118 to US 33 to SR 127.

SR 118 between Frahm Pike and Oregon Road, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE May 9th – 13th. The official detour is: SR 29 to SR 49 to SR 707

SR 703 between SR 29 and SR 364, Daily lane closures June 6th – July 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

Putnam County

Pavement repair will be performed at the following locations with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage:

• Ohio 694 from Ohio 114 to Ohio 115

• Ohio 696 from the Allen County line to Ohio 12

• Ohio 109 from Ohio 613 to the Henry County line

Shelby County

I-75 north and south between Vandemark Road and CR 25A(Sidney), Nightly lane closures May 2nd – July 4th between the hours of 6 pm and 10 am. One lane will remain open in each direction.

SR 47 between I-75 and Vandemark Road, Daily lane closures April 27th – July 31st between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Mason Road between CR 25A (Sidney) and Sidney Freyburg Road, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE April 22nd – May 16th. The official detour is: Sidney Freyburg Road to Ft. Loramie Swanders Road to CR 25A.

I-75 between SR 119 and CR 25A (Sidney), Nightly lane closures April 20th – May 20th between the hours of 6 pm and 7 am. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Sharp Road between CR 25A and Thompson Schiff Road, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE April 18th – June 18th. The official detour is: Sidney-Freyburg Road to Ft. Loramie-Swanders Road to CR-25A

Michigan Street between Pomeroy Avenue and Oak Avenue, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE April 4th – August 5th. The official detour is: Michigan Street to Highland Avenue to Oak Avenue

SR 29 between Wells Road and McCartyville Road, 24 HOUR SHOULDER CLOSURE March 21st – July 29th. Lanes will be restricted to 12 feet with shoulders closed. One lane will remain open in each direction.

SR 29 between McCloskey School Road and SR 589, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE May 9th – 20th. The official detour is: SR 235 to SR 706

Van Wert County

U.S. 127 (Washington Street) between Fox Road and Ervin Road in the city of Van Wert closed April 11 for reconstruction and widening of the road. Access to local businesses is maintained. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 81, Ohio 118, Ervin Road/Van Wert-Decatur Road, U.S. 224 and U.S. 30 back to U.S. 127. The closure will remain in place until fall. Work is being performed by Helms & Sons Excavating, Findlay.
