City engineer seeks feedback on railroad project

LIMA — The City of Lima Engineer’s Office is seeking public input on the proposed railroad grade separation on East Elm Street.

This project, slated to begin in the spring of 2020, would involve an underpass under the Indiana and Ohio Railroad along with creating a new access to Lincoln Park, realigning the intersection of Elm and Shawnee streets and constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Elm, Bellefontaine and Calumet streets. The plan would be to maintain access to public recreational properties such as Lincoln Park throughout construction, although traffic would be detoured temporarily.

Written comments on the project are due by March 5 can be sent to Kirk Niemeyer, PE City Engineer, 50 Town Square, Lima, OH 45801 or to kirk.niemeyer.cityhall.lima.oh.us. The full text of the request can be viewed at limaohio.com.
