Main Street Pub shooting suspect identified

LIMA — The Lima Police Department said the shooter from an incident at the Main Street Pub in Lima early Sunday has been identified.

A press release from the LPD said they were looking for Cantrell Island, 37, of Lima. Island was being charged with felonious assault. Police officials were asking anyone who may have information on Island’s whereabouts to contact the department at 419-227-4444.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, nearby officers responded to the pub after hearing shots. A disagreement among at least three people resulted in one man being shot. The shooter had fled the scene by the time officers reached the location.

Lima resident Jeffrey Simpson, 48, was taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center as a result of his injuries and was in critical condition.
