Hancock County plumber dies

FINDLAY — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday that a plumber was found dead after crawling into a septic tank to complete repair work.

At 2:25 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office, the Washington Township Fire Department, and Hanco EMS were called to 6210 township Road 254 in the northeastern portion of the county. It was reported that two plumbers were working on a septic system at the residence.

James Bradley Brown, 20, crawled into the septic tank and apparently became unconscious. Brown was unable to be extricated from the tank by the other worker. First responders at the scene found Brown dead.

The incident remained under investigation by the Hancock County Coroner’s Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Tuesday evening.
