VAN WERT — Elida won Saturday’s Cougar Classic girls tennis competition with 31 points. Wauseon and Van Wert tied for second (27 points each) followed by St. Marys (24), Lehman Catholic (15) and Ayersville (11).

LIMA — The Bath Wildkittens and Lima Senior Spartans opened the 2023 high school volleyball season Saturday morning at Lima Senior high school.

BATH TOWNSHIP — After going 0-10 in the 2022, Bath started 2023 by defeating last year’s Division VII champion New Bremen 14-7 Friday night.

BRYAN — Bryan’s football team started off with a bang in the second half, with quarterback Jase Kepler running in a 22-yard touchdown just 1:45 into the half to cut Van Wert’s lead to 20-14.
