PUTNAM — After decades of work, a local family business will be highlighted in a “Manufacturing Marvels” segment on national television. Maverick Label is a store located at 416 North Agner Street in Putnam County that produces labels for other companies. The store originated almost 30 years ago. Owner Joe Ormsby said he and his wife purchased the company from his father-in-law a couple of years ago. On Monday evening, the business will be featured for its products and services.

LIMA — A Lima woman pleaded guilty Monday in Allen County Common Pleas Court to illegally disposing of a murder weapon allegedly used by her son last summer to kill a local resident.

T-Mobile announces increase in coverage to 95%

LIMA — Cellular network T-Mobile has just announced an increase in coverage. According to a recent press release, the cities of Lima, Van Wert and Celina will now have 95% coverage. The release also states the company added 21 towers since 2019. The goal is to expand the coverage of 5G.

LIMA — The Ottoville Police Department is getting some new crime-fighting tools, following approval of a recommendation Monday evening by Lima City Council that body cameras no longer needed by the Lima Police Department be donated to the Putnam County agency.

Coast Guard rescues 20 people from ice floe on Lake Erie

PORT CLINTON, OH — Twenty people had to be rescued Monday after they got stranded on an ice floe half a mile from the shore at Catawba Island State Park. The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Detroit was first notified of the incident around 10:21 a.m. and deployed a helicopter, an ATV and three airboats.
