McAllen, Texas, woke up this week.

According to a 2021 survey by J.D. Power, 67% of bank customers today use their bank’s mobile app. The popularity is based on the advanced digital features of the apps, among which is the ability to receive personalized account alerts for low balances, large purchases, or unusual activity.

Juneteenth has now been a federal holiday for one year, and as celebrations are underway, I have been thinking about the third verse from James Weldon Johnson’s “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” which says:

A new and potentially influential force is emerging in Republican primaries across the country.

The M-16 was designed to take the place of the M-14. The 16 was lighter, fired much faster, and it and its ammunition were much smaller, so a soldier was carrying less weight and thus the soldier could carry more ammo.

Ohio is an automotive manufacturing hub in the United States. In fact, Ohio’s workforce is why we located Endera’s 250,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Ottawa. Endera is a technology company specializing in commercial electric vehicles, charging stations and software solutions.

At the end of May, President Joe Biden issued his proclamation on Black Music Month for June. In it, he stated that “Black music has fueled a myriad of genres — from rhythm and blues to jazz, gospel, country, rap and more,” that it is “intricately woven into the tapestry of our nation” and that it has “conveyed the hopes and struggles of a resilient people.”

This is not a column about gun control. It is about the people trying to pass gun control laws who know virtually nothing about guns or their use. If you’re going to try to control something, you should at least have some idea of what it is you are controlling and how it works.

Several years ago, I can remember awkward moments standing in the presence of this older gentleman at my nursing home.
