Easter Egg Hunt to return to Spartan Stadium

LIMA — The iHeart Media Easter Egg Hunt will return to its regular format after two years of a drive-thru format due to the pandemic.

The event will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spartan Stadium in Lima and will feature kids in three different age groups hunting for 20,000 candy and prize-filled eggs.

“It’s great for iHeart Radio and Lima,” said iHeart Media Senior VP of Programming JB Webb. “We’re excited to be able to facilitate this free event for families.”

With a grand prize of a free trip to Walt Disney World in Florida, Webb said that the event should be extra special.

“A lot of kids never had the opportunity to be able to go to Disney World and experience it, and to bring that opportunity to families is special,” he said. “As the world rebounds from COVID, it’s nice to be able to get family events in person again after having to do this with a drive-thru over the past few years at Spartan Stadium.”

Families should be able to enjoy the chance to stretch their legs on the field and enjoy the open space.

“I just think kids enjoy the ability to be out and about with friends and family and more space without being confined by a car. They can get some open air and some excitement on the weekend.”

The event, which will take place rain or shine, will have a money machine on hand for parents and the Easter Bunny will be available to take pictures with kids.

Age groups will be five and under, six to nine and 10 to 12.

“We start hunting at 11 so be on time because once the eggs are gone, they are gone.”

The event is sponsored by 4-H and Nutrien.
