BLUFFTON — The annual Harry and Jean Yoder Scholar in Bible and Religion Lecture will be presented by Dr. J. Alexander Sider, professor of religion at Bluffton University. Sider will be speaking about “Purity, Proclamation and Peace in the Book of Acts,” at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Sider will present two arguments about the book of Acts, one from British New Testament scholar C.H. Dodd and the other from Canadian Mennonite New Testament scholar Matthew Theisen. Sider will contrast the arguments and discuss how each contributes to our understanding of a central theme of Acts.
