ELIDA — Joan Thomas is celebrating her 90th birthday with a birthday party from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 9 at Gomer Congregational Church, in the Fellowship Hall. Cards may be sent to Thomas at 1190 Hook-Waltz Rd., Elida, Ohio 45807.
Thomas was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Gomer to David Llloyd and Vera (Hunt) Lloyd. On May 24, 1951, she married Ross E. Thomas, who died Dec. 2, 2021.
Joan has three children, Don (Alesia) Thomas, of Tucson, Alizona; Marty (Deb) Thomas, of Elida and Pat (Russell) Sharrits, of Columbus Grove. She has five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Thomas is retired from Elida Local Schools, where she was a bus driver. She’s a member of Gomer Congregational Church. Joan enjoys reading, sewing, Ohio State sports and the Cincinnati Reds.
