Lima to host run for charity, fun and flapjacks

LIMA — The first annual Santa Pancake 5K Run gets going at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The maiden event takes place at 19 Hawthorne Wedding & Event venue at 1000 Fetter Road.

There will be an adults 5K run for $35 apiece, plus a 5K contest for children (12 and younger) that costs $25 per kid.

Santa will be on hand for photo ops and to receive letters, along with a plethora of pancakes. There’s no need to eat and run: If you don’t want to engage in the competition, feel free to enjoy flapjacks anyway for $10.

Local mitten and hat funds will benefit from some of the race’s proceeds.

Every participating runner will be given a Santa beard neck gaiter and premium medal.

To register for the race, visit runsignup.com/Race/OH/Lima/SantaPancakeFunRun. For tickets and more information, check out 19Hawthorne.com.
