Mercy Health to build new urgent care on Lima’s Allentown Road

LIMA — Mercy Health is building a larger urgent care center on Allentown Road to accommodate growing demand for outpatient services and urgent care.

The new office will be built behind Mercy Health-West Side Urgent Care, which surpassed 20,000 patient visits in 2019.

West Side Urgent Care will remain open during construction, while the new office is slated to open sometime in October 2022, Mercy Health representatives said during a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday.

“(We) wanted it to be right here because this is a location people are used to coming to, and they’re familiar with it,” said Ronda Lehman, president of Mercy Health’s Lima market.

The urgent care office, which has been open for more than 35 years, provides outpatient lab testing, radiology services, occupational health screenings, outpatient nursing treatments and urgent care, including coronavirus testing.
