Lima firefighters promoted

LIMA — Several firefighters in the Lima Fire Department have been promoted following the recent retirements of Capt. Rich Reiff and Deputy Chief Ed Hower.

Cpt. Andy Heffner was promoted to deputy chief and assigned to the Central Fire Station. He has served with the Lima Fire Department for 22 years and has completed the Fire Officer Level I and II programs.

Lt. Brian Stewart was promoted to captain and assigned to the Central Fire Station. Stewart is a 19-year veteran of the Lima Fire Department and has completed both the Fire Officer Level I and II programs.

Lt. George Davis was promoted to captain and assigned to Fire Station 3. A 24-year veteran of the Lima Fire Department, Davis has completed the Fire Officer Level I and II programs and is the president of the Local 334 Firefighters Union.

Lt. John Craft was also promoted to captain and was assigned to Fire Station 2. Craft has served with the Lima Fire Department for 20 years and has completed the Fire Officer Level I, II and III programs.

Dale Schultheis was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to the Central Fire Station. Schultheis has been with the department for 18 years and has completed the Fire Officer I program.

Lee Short was promoted to lieutenant. A 13-year veteran of the fire department, he has completed the Fire Officer I program and will be assigned to the Central Fire Station.
