BLUFFTON — Robert Evan Gratz is celebrating his 90th birthday with a family dinner and party.
He was born July 9, 1927, in Bluffton, to Christian Abraham and Caddie May (Cook) Gratz. On Sept. 6, 1946, he married Dortha May Bridenbaugh.
He has three children, Jane (Jim) Holliday Pickett, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tony (Joyce) Gratz, of Bluffton, and Nancy (Bill) Bolka, of Muncie, Indiana. He has seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He retired from Brinks and is a lifelong member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church. He has sung barbershop with the Lima Beane Chorus for more than 25 years. He has sung with the Bluffton Blendaires, Apple Chords and the Country Chords barbershop quartets.
