LIMA — The Dodge Charger is a mid-size automobile produced by Chrysler. The 1966–1978 Chargers were on the Chrysler B platform. The Charger shared its chassis and front-end sheet metal with the Dodge Coronet, which made the Charger look a lot like a Coronet or an AMC Rambler Marlin, however the Charger was more expensive than both of those. The Charger had a base price of $3,100. The Charger’s interior was different from most other cars as the back seats folded down to create a station wagon or camper usefulness. The television series The Dukes of Hazzard (1979–1985) featured a 1969 Dodge Charger that was named The General Lee. “The General” had the Confederate battle flag painted on the roof and the words “GENERAL LEE” over each door. The windows were always open, as the doors were welded shut. The car performed spectacular jumps in almost every episode, and the show’s popularity produced consumer interest in the car.

Tim, Terri and Tate Croft brought their 1969 Dodge Charger to the Westgate Charity Car Show. They built this car themselves. Of course, it helps when you’re related to Croft’s Custom Car Center. Terri said the car is just a toy. They never took it to a car show until last year.
