Bomb squad responds to grenade found in Findlay

FINDLAY — On Monday, Findlay police went to a house in the 2000 block of Kellybrooke Court, Findlay, for a report of a grenade found inside of the garage that may have been stored by the caller’s late relative.

A news release from the Findlay Police Department said the item appeared to be a World War II-style hand grenade. The Allen County Regional Bomb Squad responded, collected the grenade and transported it off-site for a safe detonation or disposal.

The Allen County Regional Bomb Squad includes members from the Lima Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Lima Police Department and Lima Fire Department, and it covers 12 counties in northwest Ohio.
