LIMA — Former Lima basketball star Greg Simpson, 50, of Lima, was sentenced to 30 days in the Allen County jail on an amended charge of trespassing after he negotiated a guilty plea Thursday.
Simpson is also required to pay restitution of $200 to the victim and is to have no contact with the victim.
A few weeks ago, jurors were deadlocked on Simpson’s case — originally for burglary for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment — and unable to determine a verdict, which caused Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Terri Kohlrieser to declare a mistrial.
Then, after violating the terms of his bond by testing positive for the use of marijuana, his name was put on the Allen County CrimeStoppers listing this week.
