Brothers Osborne to play at Allen County Fair

LIMA — A Grammy-winning country duo will be the headlining music show at this year’s Allen County Fair.

Country duo Brothers Osborne will be in concert at the fairgrounds at 8 p.m. Aug. 17, with fellow country music artist Corey Kent opening the show.

According to the announcement on the Allen County Fair website, the Maryland-based duo of John and TJ Osborne, currently the reigning CMA and ACM Duo of the Year, have become “leaders of a progressive and still classic school of country music, and faces of the new generation of Nashville.”

They won their first Grammy award in 2022 for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Younger Me,” a song inspired by TJ’s coming out as homosexual. The duo has been nominated for 12 total Grammys and has received seven CMA awards and seven ACM trophies as well as receiving the ASCAP Vanguard Award in 2019.

Allen County Fair Director Troy Elwer said that the popularity of Hardy, last year’s headline act, played a role in the search for this year’s headliner.

“It definitely impacted our decision and narrowed down our search,” he said. “These guys have been consistent over the last five, six, seven years in producing hits.”

Kent is described on the Allen County Fair’s announcement as “one of country music’s next breakout artists,” citing such musical inspirations as the Eagles, Keith Richards and Turnpike Troubadours. His platinum single “Wild as Her” has garnered more than 17 million views on YouTube since its September 2022 release.

“His name really stood out,” Elwer said, speaking of Kent. “With [Brothers Osborne’s] proven track record and tying in Cory to create a well-rounded show, we are looking for some good sales.”

Tickets for the concert will go on sale online at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 24. With last year’s show selling out 15 minutes after tickets became available, Elwer is encouraging concertgoers to be ready to buy tickets as soon as the sale begins.

Ticket prices are $45 for grandstand and bleachers, $60 on the track, $70 for the party pit and $100 for stage front tickets. Party pit and stage front tickets will be standing-room only. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the fairgrounds website,, or call 419-228-7141.
