LEIPSIC — First responders in Putnam County were dispatched to the Poet Biorefining facility in Leipsic in response to a reported explosion.
A coordinator at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that crews were called out at 10:54 a.m. Tuesday to the plant, located at 3875 state Route 65. No additional information was immediately available.
According to the company’s website, the Leipsic plant produces 90 million gallons of bioethanol annually.
