Simpson lands 10-day deal with Memphis Grizzlies

MEMPHIS — Former Lima Senior Spartan Zavier Simpson is heading to the Memphis Grizzlies on a 10-day contract according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Simpson, an undrafted 6-foot guard out of Michigan, has spent this season with the Motor City Cruise of the NBA G League where he’s recorded averages of 19.5 points, 8.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game in 32 starts.

Over the past four seasons, Simpson has also played for the Oklahoma City Blue and Lakeland Magic of the NBA G League, along with a short stint in the Puerto Rican League for Grises de Humacao in 2023.

Simpson previously spent the final four games of the 2021-22 NBA season with the Oklahoma City Thunder where he averaged 11 points, 7.5 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game.

As of Friday night, the Memphis Grizzlies are 24-49 in 73 games and hold the 13th seed in the Western Conference.
