Boutique shares faith with community

LIMA — One local mom’s pursuit of the right career led to a business filled with her passion. Kassidy Phillips opened the women’s boutique “Faith and Flare.”

The shop celebrated its grand opening and became the 100th member of the West Ohio Christian Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday afternoon.

Chief Executive Officer David Roznowski prayed over the business as it moved forward to a new chapter at the opening.

“I started online in 2021,” Phillips said. “I was online for a little over two years. We opened the storefront in November of 2023 — I have been shopping boutiques for a long time. I was in nursing school and then I had my daughter and I did not want to go back.”

Phillips said her love for clothing helped create the idea for the store.

“My husband looked at me one day and said ‘Let’s do it,’” Phillips said. “Our clothing is contemporary modern. We have sizes from small to 3x. We also have accessories and home items.”

The boutique is located at 2366 Shawnee Road in Lima. The shop is full of trendy items and the gospel.

“My faith is a huge part of my life,” Phillips said. “My dad is a pastor and I have always been raised in church. The ‘flare’ is just adding that flare to everyone’s style — I want everyone to know there is a God that loves them whenever they walk through the door.”
