Wilson to face off against Jordan for 2nd time

DELAWARE — Democrat Tamie Wilson is hoping that the second time will be the charm when it comes to defeating U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Urbana.

Wilson defeated Democratic challenger Steve Thomas to secure the Democratic nomination for Ohio’s 4th District seat in the House of Representatives.

As of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, nearly 64 percent of Democrat voters sided with Wilson, a real estate agent, over Thomas.

During a February visit to Lima, Wilson cast herself as a moderate Democrat who is eager to get substantive work done in Washington, D.C.

“What I’ve been doing is trying to meet as many people as possible and listening to them,” she said. “Everyone wants to live a good life, and some people are living better lives than others, so I really want to help even the playing field so we can all live a good life.”

Wilson also won the Democratic nomination for the same seat in 2022 but lost to Jordan, who has been in Congress since 2007. For Wilson, Jordan, who currently chairs the House Judiciary Committee, has not truly represented the people of the district for years.

“Jim Jordan goes against the people 97 percent of the time, and I want people to know that,” Wilson said. “I am all about helping people, and he does not care about that.”
