Jan. 26

Jason L. Burleson, 41, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. He faces up to 18 months in prison and $5,000 in fines. He also pleaded guilty to assault, a misdemeanor. He faces up to six months in jail and $1,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 8:30 a.m. March 4. Two counts of felonious assault were dismissed.

Jan. 30

Paige Conder, 25, Lima, was placed on five years community control for theft. She must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment. She was also ordered to pay restitution of $6,035 to Dollar General, Kalida.

Garrett R. Schroeder, 19, Ottawa, pleaded not guilty to illegal use of a minor or impaired person in a nudity-oriented material or performance. He was placed on a $20,000 cash or surety bond and a pretrial was scheduled for March 4. He must complete PASSPOINT testing Mondays and Thursdays and not have any contact with the alleged victim.

According to court records, Schroeder is accused of photographing a minor who was not his child in a state of nudity, a Jane Doe YOB 2008 on Sept. 23, 2023, while in Putnam County.

Jan. 31

Raven D. Krontz, 43, Defiance, was sentenced to 36 days jail for aggravated possession of drugs. She was given credit for 36 days served, must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended.

Feb. 1

Elijah J. Hovest, 33, Pandora, pleaded guilty to improper handling firearms in a motor vehicle. He faces up to 18 months in prison and $5,000 in fines. He also pleaded guilty to an amended charge of physical control, a misdemeanor. He faces up to 180 days jail and $1,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11 a.m. March 4.

Feb. 2

Kayla A. Price, 33, Napoleon, was sentenced to 90 days jail for identity fraud, failure to appear, and attempted possession of drugs (cocaine). She was placed on five years community control, given credit for 82 days served and referred to the WORTH Center program. She must obtain and maintain employment and successfully complete all counseling and treatment recommended. All evidence seized by the state of Ohio shall be destroyed. A charge of aggravated possession of drugs was dismissed.

Jan. 22

Inael Z. Velazquez, 22, Leipsic, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.

Antonio H. Hernandez, 36, Leipsic, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.

Jason C. Insley, 46, Ottawa, was fined $150 for failure to maintain control.

Kenneth S. Vancamp, 26, Woodland, Calif., was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.

Benjamin K. Hart, 43, Tiffin, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of menacing. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, $150 fine, complete a mental health assessment and forfeiture of pistol.

Madison P. Laberge, 19, Rawson, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.

Jan. 29

Melanie B. Applegate, 47, Adrian, Mich., pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. Charges of OVI, drug abuse possession and drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

Charles J. Gillette, 36, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to license forfeiture. Sentence: 30 days jail, $150 fine.

Erin M. Tijerina, 49, Leipsic, pleaded guilty to driving without a valid license. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended, $100 fine,

James R. Coyne, 25, Defiance, was fined $150 for driving under FRA non compliance.

Jan. 30

Nicole L. Gessel, 39, Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended, $250 fine, suspended, and pay resitution of $725.

Travis M. Spencer, 35, Cloverdale, pleaded guilty to an amended offense of criminal mischief. Sentence: 60 days jail, 59 days suspended, $150 fine and complete a mental health assessment. A charge of assault was dismissed.

Craig A. Fortman, 53, Kalida, pleaded guilty to an amended offense of second-offense reckless operation. Sentence: Four points, 30 days jail, 27 days suspended, $250 fine. A charge of failure to signal turn was dismissed.

Christian N. Stebleton, 23, Lima,was fined $150 for driving under FRA non compliance and $50 for expired plates.
