OTTAWA — A Putnam county EMS ambulance transporting a patient in critical condition to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center on Monday evening collided with a deer on its way.
According to Brian Hilvers, director of the Putnam County Office of Public Safety, another EMS unit was quickly dispatched to the accident scene on state Route 65, just north of Columbus Grove, and the patient was promptly transported to the hospital.
The EMS unit suffered what Hilvers described as “considerable” front end damage.
