Van Wert woman injured when car rear-ends semi

FINDLAY — A Van Wert woman was taken to the hospital with neck and back injuries after her vehicle struck the rear of a semi trailer Wednesday morning in Findlay.

According to the Findlay Police Department, Jasmine Mowery, 43, of Van Wert, was traveling westbound on Hancock County Road 99 and failed to observe that a semi tractor-trailer rig driven by Clarence Anderson, 69, of Cleveland, had come to a stop at the Speedway Drive intersection.

Mowery’s 2011 Ford Escape struck the rear of the semi, resulting in her injuries. She was transported by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Mowery was cited for an assured clear distance violation.
