Girls basketball roundup: Auchmuty, Nesby pace Columbus Grove past Delphos St. John’s

Columbus Grove 51, Delphos St. John’s 36

COLUMBUS GROVE — Lauryn Auchmuty scored 22 points, and Nicole Nesby added 19 as Columbus Grove won at home.

Auchmuty had four 3-pointers in the win, as the Bulldogs (7-1) pulled away with an 11-3 scoring advantage in the third quarter.

Abby Kerner led Delphos St. John’s (2-7) with 11 points. Emma Will added 10.

Findlay 65, Lima Senior 31

FINDLAY — Lima Senior fell behind by 32 at the half and couldn’t catch up at Findlay (7-2).

The Trojans were led by Madilyn Stechschulte’s 13 points. Zoe McCormick added 12 points, five rebounds and five steals, while Aleksyss Arredondo also scored 12.

Crestview 42, Kalida 37

KALIDA — Crestview eeked out the narrow victory to improve to 9-0 this year.

Kalida fell to 4-5.

Bryan 42, Bath 23

BATH TOWNSHIP — Bath got off to a slow start, and Bryan took advantage of it in the consolation game of the Kewpee Holiday Classic at Bath.

Bryan jumped out to a 11-1 lead in the first seven minutes of the first quarter and held the scoring edge in all four quarters.

Gwyn Foust led Bath (6-2) with seven points. Anna Gray paced Bryan (7-1) with 12 points.

In the championship game, Marion Local (7-1) topped Notre Dame Academy (4-3), 45-35.

Bellefontaine 53, Shawnee 37

BELLEFONTAINE — Shawnee stumbled on the road in a nonconference game.

Grace Freiberger paces the Indians (3-5) with 24 points and seven rebounds. Kamryn Morris added nine points and five rebounds.

McComb 65, Fort Jennings 47

FORT JENNINGS — The Musketeers got behind by 10 points in the first quarter and never recovered.

Maggie Pothast paced Fort Jennings (1-8) with 21 points, while Autumn Calvelage added 10 points.

Morgan Kern led McComb with 29 points, while Hannah Sherick added 12 and Kacey Like had 10.
