Marion Local 43, Bath 38
BATH TOWNSHIP — Marion Local overcame a four-point deficit early in the fourth quarter with a 14-5 run to win its semifinal Friday night against previously undefeated Bath at the Kewpee Holiday Classic.
The Wildkittens (6-1) will face Bryan, a 49-37 loser to Notre Dame Academy, in the varsity consolation at noon Saturday. Marion Local (6-1) will play Notre Dame at 1:30 p.m.
Marion Local looked to Avae Unrast for 13 points, while Nora Eckstein tallied 10.
Anne Oliver led Bath with 13 points, while Kelsie Carlson added 11.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Delphos St. John’s 62, Crestview 44
CONVOY — Cameron Elwer scored 36 points, as the Blue Jays (5-1) outscored Crestview by 18 points in the middle two quarters to pull away.
Conner Sheets led Crestview (6-2) with 14 points, and Tommy Heffner added 10.
Columbus Grove 53, Patrick Henry 47
HAMLER — Columbus Grove used a 19-12 fourth-quarter to come from behind and win on the road.
Bo Birnesser and Kyle Hopkins each scored 13 points to pace the Bulldogs (3-0). Trenton Barraza added 12 points.
Patrick Henry (1-2) relied on 18 points from Lincoln Creager, 14 from Thomas Smith and 12 from Mack Hieber.
Miller City 40, Van Buren 27
VAN BUREN — Miller City held Van Buren to 27.5% shooting while hitting 33.3% of its shots on its way to a road win. The Wildcats also held a commanding 40-18 rebounding edge.
Brendan Barlage, Silas Niese and Will Otto shared the scoring lead for the Wildcats (5-1) with nine points.
Parker Beilharz scored 11 points for Van Buren (1-5).
Coldwater 48, Shawnee 46
COLDWATER — The Cavaliers eeked out a narrow win at home.
Baylen Blockberger paced Coldwater (4-0) with 22 points. Mason Welsch added nine points and seven rebounds.
Shawnee fell behind 9-2 in the first quarter before coming back to outscore Coldwater in the other three quarters. Beckett Bertke led the Indians (5-3) with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Dominic Lynch added 12 points.
Upper Scioto Valley 73, Vanlue 22
McGUFFEY — Maddox Underwood scored 19 points to lead USV with four double-digit scorers in a 51-point win at home.
Mason Thompson added 14 points, Alex Sanders had 12, and Hunter Damron had 10 for the Rams (3-4).
No one topped 10 points for Vanlue (0-5).
Spencerville 68, Minster 51
SPENCERVILLE — The Bearcats broke open a close two-point game with a 21-6 edge in the fourth quarter.
Owen Sensabaugh had a career-high 23 points, including 11 in the first quarter, to pace Spencerville (4-2). Evan Osting added another 17, including nine in the pivotal fourth quarter, while Carter Sudhoff tallied 12.
Brogan Stephey had a team-high 18 points for Minster (2-2), while Ian Homan scored 14.
Antwerp 46, Kalida 45
KALIDA — Antwerp narrowly edged Kalida in a nonconference game.
Landon Brewer paced the Archers (5-0) with 21 points, including 6 of 7 from the free-throw line in the clinching fourth quarter. Zaine McMichael added 10.
For Kalida (0-7), Braylon Smith led the way with 12 points, and Jacob Siebeneck had 10.
Kenton 91, Waynesfield-Goshen 57
KENTON — Five Wildcats scored in double figures on the way to a 34-point victory.
Steven Piper (20 points), Blaine Bushong (16), Ethan Yoder (15), Gavin Payne (14) and Korbin Johnston (10) all topped the 10-point barrier for Kenton (4-3).
Ottawa-Glandorf 77, Bowsher 56
OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf remained undefeated, going to 6-0.
Colin White scored 27 points for the Titans, and Caden Erford added 21.
Parkway 54, Delphos Jefferson 47
ROCKFORD — Delphos Jefferson fell short of topping Parkway despite a strong scoring output from three players.
Isaac Gallmeier led the Wildcats (1-4) with 16 points, while Karder Agner added 14. Mason Wiltsie contributed 11 points.
Ayersville 49, Fort Jennings 40
FORT JENNINGS — Ayersville jumped out to a 21-8 lead in the first quarter and kept on rolling.
Dylan Hinkle led the Pilots (3-2) with 13 points, while Garrett Flory had 12.
Fort Jennings (2-6) looked to Calvin Menke and Brandt Menke for 10 points apiece.
