Single mom hopes to start over and have a good Christmas

LIMA — Jasmine is a single mom who hopes for nothing but to give her children a good Christmas. Jasmine was recently asked to leave her home due to domestic violence. She now resides with family members and hopes to restart her life. She works long hours but still dedicates time to her children.

“I wake up every day and tell my children to be great,” Jasmine said. “I have my moments where I can be short with them but then I wake and I ask. God forgive me when I have fallen short. I love them so much. It is just the three of us and they are all I have.”

She is currently working almost 16 hours on the night shift. Even through fatigue, Jasmine wants to continue to work hard to provide for her family.

Thankfully, Jasmine does have the help of her mother in her time of need. Jasmine also said she was recently diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from her circumstances and assault.

The recent change of address was unexpected. After years of mistreatment and eviction, Jasmine decided it was time for a new life.

Jasmine hopes to soon have a new home where her children can grow up. Cameron and Sarah are two young girls who are grateful. Cameron is a 7-year-old and Sarah is 5 years old. Both girls enjoy reading with their mom. They enjoy any toys from dinosaurs to baby Yoda. The young girls also enjoy Star Wars. The girls wear sizes 8/9 and 10/12.

As Jasmine transitions to a new home, household items would be helpful including a stove or refrigerator. The family would enjoy pots and pans to begin cooking again. Jasmine also said gas cards would be a help. The family would also enjoy items that bring comfort including warm blankets.

“I do not feel like I deserve this,” Jasmine said. “We are happy with anything.”
