Lima soap company helps care for the ‘skin you’re in’

LIMA — Just feet away from two new bakery shops sits the new storefront for Ev’Dera. The natural soap company got its start with the hope of helping others, said owner Michael Thompson. Ev’Dera has now made its home at 207 S. Central Ave., in the Central District in downtown Lima.

“I think there are a lot of great things happening in Lima,” Thompson said. “I think that being able to bring something slightly different to Lima is great and the community is great. It provides us the opportunity for all of Lima to kind of get together and celebrate — I am thankful we are just a part of that.”

The company hopes to not only provide products to customers but also overall wellness education. Thompson said Ev’Dera is a work in progress and the company is excited to grow and create new items for the community.

“A lot of times, you may hear us talk about skin awareness or just understanding who you are and the skin that you are in,” Thompson said. “(We want to focus on) what customers are using and how it makes them feel. (In addition to care) we are trying to innovate and come out with new products.”

Currently, the company sells various soaps, face washes and bath salts. Customers can purchase soaps with goat milk, exfoliates and much more. Thompson also said the store sells all-natural and some organic products.

The store is open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturdays in the Central District at 207 S. Central Ave.
