Nov. 27

Garret M. Howell, 35, Ottawa, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He was placed on post release control for five years and given credit for 144 days served and any additional days while awaiting transport. He was classified as a Tier 2 sex offender and will have to register every year for 25 years

According to court records, on or about May 20 through May 22, Howell engaged in sexual conduct with a person identified as “Jane Doe” born in 2008 while he was 10 or more years older than the other person, while at Ottawa Memorial Park, 730 N. Locust Street, Ottawa.

Nov. 28

Gregory A. Preston, 32, Cincinnati, pleaded guilty to aggravated trafficking in drugs. He faces up to eight to 12 years in prison and $15,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 9:30 a.m. Jan. 4. The judge ordered any illegal drugs seized in the within action to be forfeited to the arresting agency. A charge of aggravated possession of drugs was dismissed.

Nov. 29

Samantha Krueger, Leipsic, was granted a divorce from Jeremiah Krueger, Parma. They were married April 18, 2021 and have no children.

Kelli Hazelton, Ottawa, and Anthony A. Hazelton, Ottawa, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married May 4, 2019 in Ottawa and have no children.

Nov. 27

Rivera E. Gonzalez, 23, Ottawa, was fined $150 for driving without a valid license.

Banel Michel, 34, Lima, was fined $150 for driving without valid license. He was also fined $50 for tail/license plate light required.

Veronica L. Nartker, 48, Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to first-offense OVI. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. A charge of license plate light was dismissed.

Jennifer L. Searfoss, 46, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to second-offense OVI. Sentence: 180 days jail, 160 days suspended, $1,000 fine, $475 suspended, two-year license suspension, and complete assessment at Pathways Counseling Center. Another charge of OVI and a charge of left of center were dismissed.

Samantha L. Johnson, 42, Lima, was fined $150 for an amended charge of no operator’s license. A hearing on a probation violation was dismissed.

Elyssa M. Gutierrez, 22, Continental, charged with drug abuse/possession, a felony, bound over to common pleas court.
